Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw recognized as the First Lady of Biotech by Asian Scientist Magazine

The Asian Scientist 100 is an annual listing of Asia’s leading Scientists by the prestigious Asian Scientist Magazine. 2020 marks the 5th year of the launch of this list since 2016.

Every year since 2016, Asian Scientist Magazine compiles a list of Asia’s most outstanding researchers.

In the 2020 report, Asian Scientist Magazine has examined Asia’s leading scientists in 5 sub-sectors: agriculatural and environmental sciences, biomedical sciences, chemistry and material sciences, engineering, and physics and mathematics. And while COVID-19 has fundamentally reshaped our world, these scientists have driven knowledge in these sub-sectors long before the pandemic and will continue to do so for many years to come.

This year’s Asian Scientist 100 list celebrates the success of the region’s best and brightest, highlighting their achievements across a range of scientific disciplines.

The innovation journey of Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, ‘India’s First Lady of Biotech’, has been featured in the report and her contribution to Biomedical Sciences in Asia has been recognized. Biocon, Asia’s leading biopharmaceutical company, is pioneering innovation in Novel Biologics and Biosimilars.
