India is struggling with a second wave of the pandemic with more than 4,00,000 daily new coronavirus cases being reported in the past few days. As COVID-19 continues to claim lives by the minute, do we have the capacity to protect those most at risk? Safe and effective vaccines will be a game-changer but do we have the strategies in place to ramp up production and address vaccine inequity?
As India is facing its biggest challenge with the pandemic, GITAM University organized a talk with Kiran Mazumdar Shaw hosted by Nidhi Razdan to discuss about the strategies that India can adopt and what we can do to ramp up vaccinations.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Founder & Executive Chairperson, Biocon talks to Nidhi Razdan on India’s vaccination strategies and initiatives on 15th May 2021. The live event was hosted by GITAM University, India. The agenda of the discussion was the current vaccination scenario in India and how we can ramp up the vaccination drive in India. Kiran talks about the various strategies that India should have adopted to fight the pandemic more effectively. She also talks about the things that went well and things that could have been done better.
She also shares her own journey as an entrepreneur and talks about overcoming numerous challenges in building Biocon into a leading global biopharmaceutical company with a commitment to make healthcare affordable and accessible. She shared her personal experience of tackling Covid-19 and how she managed and recovered from what she calls a mild form of Covid. She advises people to keep themselves healthy & active and do yoga & exercise everyday. She also urges everyone to mask up, stay home and stay safe.
