Forum: Harvard US-India Initiative 2021 India Conference
HUII, or the Harvard College US-India Initiative, is a studen-run organization at Harvard University that aims to create a dialogue about India’s most pressing political, social, economic, and environmental challenges. This year HUII brought together prominent keynote speakers and panellists to attend the conference.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Founder & Executive Chairperson, Biocon engages with youth across the country at the Harvard US-India Initiative’s 2021 India Conference. In a fireside chat, Kiran covers a diverse array of topics, from India’s role in global healthcare, the country’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as, the future of the biopharmaceutical industry.
She also answers questions related to the importance of affordable innovation as a business model, the biggest challenges that India currently faces and what needs to be done to surmount them, and how startups can make a difference in addressing healthcare gaps in rural India. She also shares her views on how the COVID-19 crisis has unleashed the power of research and innovation energy in India.
